Face saving devise of Modi Govt., in wake of fewer monsoon

Though the monsoon, in India, have opened his account, on last Friday, in Kerala, which is yet to expand in the other part of country, but the Minister’s of the Modi Govt. have started shedding crocodile tears for the farmers, much before the striking of monsoon, on the issue of inadequate rains for the coming days.

These tears did not come out simply, it is because, the Modi Govt. wanted to save their skin, if the Indian market gets inflated, on account of fewer monsoons. They are to blame the Rain God, for the inadequate rains.

The Agriculture Minister, Mr. Radha Mohan Singh of  Modi lead Govt., have announced that in case of inadequate rain, the Govt. will give subsidy to farmers on Diesel, Seed and Electricity, as like last year.

But the fact remains, the Union Govt., in their last budget, have reduced the subsidy in fertilizer’s and seed, in their budget allocation. Whereas, in the case of Petroleum, the Govt. have raised different Excise Duty, on several occasion, to fill their coffers, while the International price on the petroleum have dipped, at the lowest ebb.

It is really ridiculous by the Govt. to say that subsidy will be given to the farmers, related to the Electricity. Being knowingly well that the Power is an absolutely a state’s subject, whose tariff is being regularized by the state Govt. from time to time, then how the Union Govt. is going to give subsidy to the farmers, through the state Govt.?

Nobody, in India, will admit the claim of the Union of India that the subsidy on Diesel, Seed and Electricity were given to the farmers, in the last year, due to adequate rain. Even, it was being done, then it was only limited in the Govt.’s documentation and not a single penny was dispensed to the farmers, on this occasion.

However, in the mean time, the Power Ministry, just couple of days ago, have put another proposal to face the eventuality of in adequate rain, the Power Ministry have proposed to provide more electricity to the farmers for their irrigation job to subsitute the use of the diesel, but the ministry have put the ball in the court of the State Govt. to purchase more power from the Central.

In fact, the entire exercise, by the two Ministries, is to minimize the maximum damage, caused by the PM Modi, on the issue of Land Accusation Bill, which has given a bad name to Mr. Modi, as a Anti farmer and Pro capitalist
